Gross, subtle, causal Energy Body Work

Freedom Now! The next step in Energy Psychology

...beyond EFT and EMDR

A method you can learn which removes disturbances instantly

Tim Strachan

It goes without saying that I am on the path like everyone else, and a rocky one it has been at times.

The term ‘sensei’ (which I do not claim to be) in Japanese means simply one who is some number of steps further ahead on the path—often one step only! In fact, there is no one path, and the idea of this or that person being further along is really an internal matter for each person. Integral theory shows that there are many levels of development in different spheres, and that any person will show a lot of variability in development in different areas. What we do want is to integrate our various types of development and our various subtle bodies.

Hitting the wall

In my early 20s I hit a wall, and experienced what can be called a ‘psycho-spiritual emergency’, what others have called a breakdown, and yet others a breakthrough. I believe most people experience something like this sometime in their lives, as if it’s part of the design of being human, that we only learn by crisis or catastrophe, that we need to continually be emerging into new expanded arenas, requiring a new ‘birth’, often an ugly and painful process. Or so it was for me.

Spiritual genius

If I had been a ‘spiritual genius’ such as Eckart Tolle, the German spiritual teacher, I would have moved fairly seamlessly to the next expanded state…but I got stuck. Tolle was able to ‘surrender’ his identity at the moment of his crisis, and he did it so well that he moved into an ‘enlightened’ state, as he was later to realize. Or said another way, he released his identification with the small separate ego, and expanded it to a world– or cosmo-centric level.

The Shaman

This is also the story of the successful shaman. Such a one is called, or forced, to submit to a process/initiation in which he is psychically, psychologically ‘torn apart’ or dismembered, an energetic/spiritual process which is usually terrifying. I have no doubt that many have failed, got stuck, gone mad, or simply retreated fast! If one manages to pass through that phase, through courage and insight, a major transformation occurs, or let’s say, the would-be shaman becomes somewhat ‘enlightened’. For more on the  shamanic aspect of healing see this article.

Stuck and blocked

Most of us do get stuck, and that too was my destiny. So I began an intensive study/search of the world of energy, spirit, body and mind, in order to find out ‘what was wrong with me’, as none of the mainstream ‘experts’ had a clue. I studied disciplines east and west, bodywork, therapies, martial arts, meditation, Chi Kung, shamanic techniques, clairvoyance and so on. A typical ‘Boomer’ as Ken Wilber would say. I traveled in many places, kept studying, always pushed on by the seeking for wholeness.

In the meantime, I kept working with energies, bodywork, acupuncture, etc. in many places, as I worked in a variety of jobs—teaching of various kinds, disk-based publishing for computers, etc.

Energy Body Work

As time passed, I realized that with the various disciplines that I have studied all my adult life, I was in a unique position to create a new synthesis of the rational and ‘irrational’, the scientific and the energetic, the physical and the mental, etc. A wholistic view of the human process, healing and development, began to emerge in the 1990s and I followed it up energetically. Of course in many ways I was re-inventing the wheel, but that seems to be the fate of all of us, as we expand into ever-widening circles of identification and knowledge.

‘Soul doctor’

What has emerged is my current practice of Energy Body Work, which seemed to be a kind of ‘soul doctoring’ or ‘energy sleuthing’ or ‘energy counseling’. People would present themselves with some kind of apparently insoluble problem, and together we would work to find where the blockage was, which ‘body’ of the various subtle bodies was most affected, and how to let it go. The first step in this process is always to ‘enter the body’ more deeply, a process which is really an aligning of, and re-acquaintance with, the subtle bodies.

Enter the body

The physical/etheric level (or ’gross’ level in integral terminology) is the entrance to our subtle bodies. Most people are somewhat ’out of their bodies’ without realizing it, and the simple process of dropping back into the body is often a major healing, leading to a number of ’unblockings’ almost automatically. Methods of helping people to ’drop in’ come from the various kinds of bodywork, martial arts, meditatitve practices, visualization, etc. The use of various forms of Energy Psychology too facilitates this process. See elsewhere on this site for more information on those topics.

Some people are very adept quickly in re-entering the body, while others need to be taught slowly. I found that everyone, however, could learn to do this, and that everyone benefited from doing so. I know I have benefited greatly from working with clients to go deeper energetically, for it is definitely a learning and a healing on both sides.

The new Freedom Now process

The discovery of this process (see the home  page for more) is a major step along this path and I welcome your interest. I believe it is the next obvious step in Energy Psychology and healing, and the experiences of my clients and myself certainly bear this out. There are rapid changes occurring for those who use it.

More about my background

In my life and work I attempt to make a bridge between mainstream science and the Energy sciences of the future. I work towards the broader acceptance of the importance of energies, and towards applying this approach to the life of my clients and to the environment.

I completed a Bachelor of Science in Pure Maths, along with a University Medal in the  mathematical competition, and studied Medicine at University until deciding to pursue the energetic model of healing rather than the medical model. To this end, I gained a Diploma of Acupuncture and have continued to pursue a number of disciplines to refine my knowledge and experience of Energetics.

I gained a Black Belt in Ki Energetics, a form of Chi Kung associated with the martial art Aikido, which I have also studied. I am a qualified instructor of Ki Energetics.

I combine my 33 years of experience in the healing arts with the study of Building Biology (Baubiologie) and Building Ecology. My understanding and use of Radiesthesia (dowsing) is combined with the scientific approach of Building Biology and Ecology and the use of sophisticated instrumentation to detect harmful influences in the lives of  my clients. This is closely connected to Kinesiology in which I’ve also been trained.

Along with this I provide Energy Body Work sessions at my clinic in Bondi Junction in Sydney. These are based on my extensive training and research in bodywork, both physical and subtle. More info on this is available throughout this site.

I am constantly researching the Energy Model. This has also led recently to training and certification in the clinical use of the SCENAR/ENAR device, Ozone and oxygen treatments, Patrick Flanagan’s latest Neurophone, Gaston Naessen’s 714X cancer treatment, various ‘zappers’ including Robert Beck’s, Lakhovsky’s Multiple  Wave Oscillator, Wilhelm Reich’s orgone research into weather balancing (’rain-making’), and much more.

My teachers, virtual and otherwise

We are all teaching and learning from each other all the time, so of course everyone I meet is my teacher. But the following people are some of the greats of all times.

Ken Wilber and integral psychology/philosophy, and the great group of people and teachers connected with this movement. Ken Wilber seems to have followed a path of wisdom/enquiry which led into a whole integrated development understanding, as described and symbolized by his AQAL model. He is well worth studying, because reading his books puts much in context, and removes much confusion. See www.integralnaked.org.

Andrew Cohen as a westerner with an originally eastern enlightenment which has evolved into a very western form of enlightenment. See wie.org.

Rudolf Steiner with his emphasis on ‘spiritual science’ and a western form of development. He’s a Buddha for the west.

Morihei Ueshiba, founder of Aikido as a peaceful martial art and process of self-development; and his student, Kochei Tohei, who brought Aikido to the West and refined its principles into Ki Energetics. I did quite a lot of training in Aikido and Ki Energetics with Ken McLean, who embodies these principles strongly.

Eckart Tolle, author of ‘The Power of Now’ and someone who used desperation in a brilliant way to change category overnight to an ‘enlightened’ state.

Samuel Sagan, who runs the Clairvision School (www.clairvision.org) with whom I studied for some years, in the field of esoteric Christianity, or the hermetic tradition. One of the few such Schools available anywhere.
