Freedom Now! The next step in Energy Psychology

A method you can learn which removes disturbances instantly

Thinking, Knowing, & Memory 2

us get our ‘heads’ around this world and navigate it) which obscures the fact that each part of the universe is instantly and constantly ‘alive’ to all other parts.

ESP and premonition and other psychic events can be imagined as the reflection of particular other jewels in our own bejewelled surface, our ‘mind’ – the clearer that surface, the more we can reflect clearly other events and people and times. And we are able to make our surfaces more clear by our own efforts, a kind of ‘bootstrapping’ which is the purpose of all self-accelerated evolution, that great  power that humans have available, and even occasionally use!

The computer analogy helps to clarify this idea of ‘self and Self’. Just as a computer has its own local short-term and long-term memory (RAM and local hard disk, for example), so does our individual body-mind have its own localised versions of memory retention in our local field (or ‘energy body’). What we imprint into these fields as a process of growing up, being conditioned and socialised, studying, etc., is a small map of the whole territory of knowledge spread throughout the unimaginably huge fields of consciousness of this universe, as we experience it. This map gets enlarged and polished during a life, in some cases amazingly so, but in the end there is a quantum leap from an identification with the local imprints of our local ‘self’ (our ‘map’), to an identification with the whole territory, a process sometimes called ‘enlightenment’. If you read the experiences of those who have done this, it seems that this process is a surrendering of all the data collected in the local map (of self), to allow for the expansion into the whole territory. There is a good description of this process by Eckhart Tolle in the introduction to his book ‘The Power of Now’.

Beliefs, opinions, fixed ideas, prejudices, etc. – how they block ‘knowing’

Beliefs, opinions and the like are simply energy structures which have either been installed by the culture and circumstances in which we were born, or developed by us in response to the trajectory of our lives. Either way, they are really pretty arbitrary, the result of conditioning, and the ‘accident’ of birth. But they are ours, and we usually stick to them way beyond their usefulness.

Beliefs work on a mental level of conceptual discrimination between the favoured, what’s ‘in’, and the dismissed, the unfavoured, the excluded or ‘what’s out’. ‘God is Love’ is in, ‘God is not-Love’ is out. Even the ‘highest’ beliefs are simply contractions around one notion which excludes all that is outside it, splitting up reality or total experience into the ‘included’ and the ‘excluded’.  Part of the universe is relegated to non-existence, although if it can be even imagined, then it exists. So it is an impossible notion to exclude any of it, try as we might. But this is how we construct our universes, our stories, and it is a valid and useful procedure for helping us to make sense of being, except that usually we become prisoners of the story, we come to believe the map is the territory, and we lose touch with whatever we exclude as well as with our true nature of actually being energetically in touch with all that is.

How we can begin to change our thinking to knowing  (more on this in another article)

Get into the body (inhabit it by placing attention in it)

Get into the Energy Body (pay attention to sensation, energy movements, etc.)

Connect to self and others via the whole body/energy body

‘Dismantle’ unwanted Energy structures (habits, fears, neuroses, patterns, rigid thoughts, beliefs, etc.) using ‘Freedom Now’ or some other method (Taoist water practices, Byron Katie Work, EFT, etc.)

Strengthen the thinking by concentration exercises – regular concentration on observation, memory exercises, imagination, etc.

After concentration improves somewhat, practise some form of simple meditation, like being in the present

Develop the Energy Body by mindfulness, energy development (T’ai Chi,  Chi Kung, Aikido, Feldenkrais, etc.)

There may come a time when we will wear our beliefs and thoughts so lightly that we can do away with them, and their place will be taken by a direct experience of what is, of all that is, right now. In other words, by knowing. I say: ‘Bring it on!’ (I think!).
